Balloons and People Everywhere

Albuquerque has the (I think THE) largest hot air balloon fiesta in the world. It lasts for two weeks in early October. And you have to go at least once while it is going on. So we decided to go to the Special Shapes Glowdeo. (That is when all the shaped balloons and anchored down and once it gets dark they 'glow' or turn their gas/flames on.) It is Mindy's favorite event and is really cool to watch. We attended the Glowdeo with our friends Scott & Tracy and thier daughter Nora. To save on parking, we all loaded up in our car and headed to the event. We had a great time and Nora and Katy LOVE playing together.

A Fun Night

The Littlest Jones

Well, almost the littlest. Mindy's grandmother's, Sue, side of the family (the Jones) recently had a family reunion in Ruidoso, NM. And while Katy was very close to the youngest (there is one more Jones that is younger) she was still happy to meet LOTS of people that she had never met before. Lots of hugs and kisses to go around. Katy got to spend lots of time with her Nana and Popee (mindy's parents), her Uncle Matt & Aunt Lindsey and lots more relatives. She even got to get her photo taken with THE Pistol Pete of the NM Aggies!! (Pete just happens to be mindy's cousin DJ!!). The weather was fantastic and our accomodations were great (thank you Nana and Popee!!). We stayed in a 3 story town hown. Man, Katy loved all those stairs.

This past month, the NM State Fair was going on so of course Katy has to go.
She actually ended up going twice. Once with Uncle Joe, Aunt Aspen, Andy & Michelle, and Mommy and Daddy. And once with just Mommy & Daddy. Both times she had fun.
But of course mommy only brought the camera once. :) Katy's favorite thing about the fair (BY FAR) was all the animals. She loved (!!) the little petty zoo and enjoyed the dairy barn too.

While yes, in these photos you may not see a smile, she really loved it. She just loooks irratated in all the photos because I kept saying, Katy...Katy, look at Mom...and she was annoyed because I kept making her take photos. :)

Busy September

Wow! September is only part way over and already it has been a very busy month for such a little girl. Katy took her very first airplane ride and went Missouri for a wedding. It was a nice wedding and Katy was able to meet lots of her mommy & daddy's friends like Allison & Andrew (the bride & groom), Rachel (and Jeff) & Steph (who are both expecting babies this spring..yeah!), and lots of other friends. While in Missouri, Katy rode a Carousel for the first time, went to Cabellas (a big sporting goods/hunting store), saw where the outlaw Jesse James lived, and lots more stuff!

Katy also got to visit with lots of family these past few weeks. Her MiMi (Jan) went with us to Missouri and we had lots of fun. We recently went to High Rolls to visit Mindy's grandparents and then on to Las Cruces to see Jeb's parents and grandparents. We also got to see Mindy's Aunt Penny and cousin Katy along the trip. Last weekend, Katy's Aunt Aspen and Uncle Joe stopped by to visit. While they were here, Katy enjoyed her first trip to the NM State Fair. Last Sunday was Celebration Sunday at our church and we had a huge 25ft inflateable slide and a fun jump to play on. Katy LOVED going down the slide and getting to bonce in the fun jump.

Katy is growing leaps and bounds and is learning new things everyday. Katy has grown herself 8 little teeth now and it looks like #9 might soon be on the way. Katy is also very close to walking. It seems that her goal is to walk before she turns 1...and it is looking like she is going to make it. She has 1 month and half to go. Katy is learning other words...sorta. She loves to say 'hi' to people is learning to repeat words. Katy is also really into reading and really likes to feed her self. It is hard to believe she is almost 1!!
