6 Months and Then Some

On May 1st Katy turned 6 mos old. (Its funny how when people are young we count each month, even each week sometimes...At what point do we go from telling people we are 5 and 3/4 quarters to cringing when asked about our age...funny how life works.)

On May 10th, Katy headed off to the doctor for her 6mos check up and shots (ouch!).
Katy's New Stats:
Length: 26.5 inches
Weight: 18.4 lbs
Katy did great and 'passed' her check up with pretty much flying colors.

We are still amazed at just how fast she is growing and changing.
Crawling is upon us. While Katy can't officially crawl yet, she is very capable of reaching and twisting and finding everything within a 3 foot radius of her. Guess its time to baby proof the house. And our offices for that matter.
Katy has her two bottom middle teeth (those came in April) and is now working on another bottom tooth...we are hoping she had top teeth.
Bathtime has become a little more of a wet time. Katy has mastered sitting up and thinks that the bath is a great place to sit up. Which is fine...but makes things (and people) a little for fun or wet!
Katy has also started a third day of daycare and now attends Wesley Kids Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. She is fine with it...and it has made things a little easier for her parents.
Katy is eating all kinds of stuff now and is doing great. She is also mastering the art of drinking water from a sippy cup. A messy but fun sight to see.
Katy will be busy for the next month and a half so she should have lots of pictures and memories to share. She will be attending Annual Conference with her parents in Glorietta, NM for several days. She will then head off to church camp with the high school kids for a week of Sr. High Camp at Sacramento. The week after camp Katy will be at the church each night for Vacation Bible School. But we have to miss the last day cause Katy's Uncle Matthew is getting married in Texas. Check back for new pictures and stories of all Katy's May/June activities.

The Fun Never Ends When You're Katy

The fun never ends when you are a baby. Katy continues to stay very busy.
She recently attened a weekend youth retreat to the Manzano Mountain Retreat Center with the youth from our church. It was a little cold and windy...but Katy had a great time.
She even looked on as the youth completed a low ropes course.

Katy is sitting like a champ now. She has been sitting for quite some time now...but just recently she has become VERY sturdy while she sits. She can spends lots of time on the floor playing with toys.
Katy was delighted to spend some time with her Nana (Tena) and Grandpa (Scott) a couple weeks ago. She even invited them to the zoo, where I think they all had a great time!!

Katy has been on solid foods for a month or so now. She stuck with apples, pears, and bananas for a while, but now, Katy has moved onto carrotts, sweat potatoes, etc. She also just started snacking on 'fruit puffs' and zweback crackers. Those are still pretty new...but Katy enjoys the challenge. Katy goes to the doctor in the morning for her 6month check up...so we will keep you posted with her new 'stats!' Katy sends her love to all of you all!!
